Open Me Slowly

Much like some of my best work, Open Me Slowly came to me unannounced. Once I get into a space of seeing nothing but the canvas in front of me, once every distraction has melted away, the inner workings of my art-mind begin to translates themselves into the tangible dimensions of a painting. All I recall is the song of the same name playing in the background—everything else was a given from the collective subconsciousness, probably.

Kamilė Iljinaitė is an independent Lithuanian artist, creating full-time since 2024. Known for her expressive acrylic paintings, her work is defined by unrestrained brushwork and conceptual depth. Kamilė’s art gained local recognition through festivals like IŠKROVOS and seasonal fairs such as Sankrova.Kalėdos. In August 2024, her work was spotlighted in the Lithuanian newspaper Sekundė, cementing her presence as an emerging artist. As part of her expanding creative practice, Kamilė launched fragments forms, a personal brand, offering her designs on T-shirts and posters to her online audience.
