Isabelle Hayman (B. 1969) is a French artist based in London. She trained as a print textile designer followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Paris. She has extensive experience in textiles and spent time working in Java. Childhood connection to Western Africa and travels deeply inform her work. Her background in textiles, decorative arts well as collecting vintage books and textiles are important elements of her creative process. Isabelle's work can be viewed through the lens of her botanical series and portraits of varied felinity.
In September 24, she exhibited a series of paintings called "The story of a plastic boat' at The School Gallery Folkestone, UK. In this series she explores her relationship with familial narration linked to maritime past. The series illustrates with humour and surrealist manner women reclaiming the seas.
