Masaru Kobayashi, whose name is quietly but surely making its mark on the art world, was born in 1946. As a young man, he studied photography at the Nihon University College of Art and worked as a freelance photographer, capturing the spirit of the times on film. However, his inner impulses were not confined to the confines of photography, and in 1987, a spiritual experience in medical photography, where life and death intersect, stirred his soul. He picked up a paintbrush and embarked on a new path of expression: painting. In 1995, his talent was recognized with the Jury Prize at the Eagle de Nice exhibition, and in 1997, he had a solo exhibition at the Ayumi Gallery in Tokyo and won a prize at a visual arts exhibition in Barcelona. In 2000, his solo exhibition at Basta Pasta in New York proved that his work transcends national boundaries and captures people's hearts. Gallery held two-person exhibitions at Isetan Kyoto and Isetan Niigata, where his work met a new audience.
