Margarita Siebke – The Art of Perception

About the Artist

Margarita Siebke is a German artist whose work explores the boundaries between inner vision and outer perception. Rooted in a deep sense of presence and openness, her paintings often blend spiritual symbolism with vibrant emotional landscapes. Inspired by childhood encounters with powerful images and patterns, her art invites viewers to rediscover the world through a more intuitive, heartfelt gaze.

Artistic Journey

Although she initially studied theology and worked as a pastor, art remained her constant inner companion. Between 2006 and 2010, she completed a part-time art education at the Kunstwerkstatt Mainz under the guidance of Doris Happel, graduating with distinction. This period marked a turning point where artistic practice became a vital expression of life and healing.

Work and Style

Margarita’s work includes portraits, figurative compositions, and abstracted spiritual motifs. Working primarily with acrylics and pastels, she follows a spontaneous, intuitive process, allowing color and form to reveal their own language. Her paintings often carry a quiet depth—reflecting personal transformation, sacred architecture, or inner landscapes.

Exhibitions

Though her health and work as a learning therapist limited her public appearances, Margarita has shown her work in several solo exhibitions in Mainz. These include venues such as the VHS Mainz, local cafés, churches, and most recently, an ongoing project on altar imagery in the Old Cathedral of Mainz.
